Sabores da Orla 2026: Copacabana's kiosk World Cup

Copacabana has become an arena through August 31: Sabores da Orla 2026 brings together more than 150 beachfront kiosks in a World-Cup-style gastronomic championship — exclusive dishes, QR-code voting and a final in October. For guests staying at the Argos studios, the competition unfolds just minutes away on foot.

Copa de Sabores: the championship format through August 31

The 2026 edition adopted a World Cup identity: each kiosk plays the role of a national team, chefs become the players in the spotlight, and the public decides who advances, through a group stage, knockout rounds and a grand final. The event runs the full month, from August 1 to 31, spread across Rio's beaches with a strong presence in Copacabana and Leme. The final result comes out on October 8.

No table reservation or team loyalty required — just walk to the beachfront and taste.

What to try — two exclusive dishes from this edition

Each participating kiosk created recipes specifically for the festival. At Pedra do Leme, the competing dish is Pargo Caminho dos Pescadores — fish with mango chutney, octopus rice and smashed potatoes, for R$ 99. At Samba Social Clube, in Copacabana, the entry is Lasanha da Tia Lúcia, for R$ 69.90. Between these two examples, the pattern is clear: signature dishes, beach-restaurant pricing, portions meant to be shared.

How to vote and plan a route from the studios

  1. Try the exclusive dish at any participating beachfront kiosk — most sit less than a 10-minute walk from the Copacabana studios.
  2. Scan the QR code on the kiosk's menu to vote directly for the dish, or vote through the official site saboresdaorla.com.br.
  3. Use the "Monte sua Rota" tool on the official site to plan a gastronomic route by beach or category before leaving the studio.
  4. No reservation needed — just walk in, sit down and order; waits concentrate in the late afternoon and on weekends.

Do you need to leave the beachfront to take part? Not really

The advantage of staying in Copacabana during Sabores da Orla is not having to travel: the festival runs along the beachfront itself, kiosk by kiosk, with no rideshare app or advance booking required. For a guest with a 2- or 3-day stay, it is easy to try more than one competing dish just by walking the beach between swims.
